Purpose-Built Switchgear Housings
ADE have over 25 years of experience at the forefront of the design, manufacture, and fit-out of precision engineered prefabricated steel enclosures to house any type and quantity of LV and/or HV switchgear suites.
Our modular and non-modular design approaches allow us to bespoke-manufacture solutions to facilitate a quick and efficient installation of your most valuable assets on site, with minimum interference from external sources.
Your essential equipment can be installed into the enclosure(s) at our manufacturing facility, allowing it to be fully tested by you, and your client, before transporting to site, granting everyone involved the confidence at an early stage that a fully operational solution is being engineered prior to actual delivery.
Modular Switchgear Rooms
All our modular switchgear housing solutions are robust, secure, and designed specifically for the best functionality of your essential equipment.
We possess the design resources, combined with the technical expertise and experience necessary to customise switchgear housings and electrical houses (also known as eHouses) exactly to your specification, providing blast-resistant, temperature and humidity-controlled enclosures as required for such sensitive equipment.
Switchrooms for All Industries
ADE offer bespoke designed, manufactured, and fit-out instrumentation housings for clients within a wide range of industries: oil, gas, rail, utility power, and communications being significant sectors. We supply on a global scale satisfying various international ISO and British Standards including: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BS EN ISO 3834, BS EN 1090, and more. Other international or national standards can be incorporated as required on a project-by-project basis. Our housings are designed and tested to withstand extreme conditions in the most remote and dangerous operating environments.
All our instrumentation housings are constructed and assembled on-site at our manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire, UK. Operating within our accredited quality management system, our highly experienced mechanical and electrical engineers install, check, and re-check all client-supplied equipment, fitting fire suppression and environmental control systems amongst others to ensure the optimal operational conditions for your critical equipment and instrumentation.
The complete package is then available for delivery, where the care and attention to detail provided at ADE prepares your enclosure(s) for a fast, easy, and safe installation of a quality product, keeping your on-site commissioning simple and effective.
We offer the supply and installation of domestic electrics in all equipment housings to BS 7671 installation standards. ADE can provide single and three phase distribution systems with MCB protection. Standard or LED Lights, emergency lights, external door or compound lighting systems are designed by calculation to make sure all lux requirements are met. Other options include: changeover switches, 230V twin 13 Amp switched sockets with RCBO protection, 110V sockets, generator connection points, transformers, and battery chargers.
Natural, force fan or air conditioning can be supplied depending on the client's requirements. Calculations carried out by ADE can determine which system is right for you. Forced fan ventilation can reduce cooling in the equipment housing by 5 or 10 degrees as most equipment is rated up to 40 degrees celsius. Air conditioning or water cooling systems can also be provided as per the specification. Small wall or ceiling systems can be positioned within the housing whereas larger systems may require their own housing.
We manufacture all types and sizes of louvres to cover the client's air flow & cooling requirements. Louvre designs include: weather protective, single & double bank acoustic, sand trap, stainless steel for coastal applications. Motorised or slam shut dampers can be supplied when required.
Equipment housings will be fitted with appropriate forms of heating to keep the equipment frost-free and ready to operate, including fan heaters, convector heaters, wall heaters, tube heaters, storage heaters. Hazardous area heaters for specialist (ATEX) modules, controlled by thermostats that can also be provided and linked to external monitoring systems.
Put simply, a dehumidifier reduces the level of humidity in the air to leave the environment feeling more comfortable and, as a rule, healthier. Not just for use in the home & offices, equipment housings which house sensitive electrical equipment need to take moisture into consideration when designing either natural or force fan ventilation systems.
A fire alarm system has a number of devices working together to detect and warn people through visual and audio appliances when smoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other emergencies are present. These alarms may be activated automatically from smoke & heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation devices such as call points or pull stations. Alarms can be either motorised bells or wall mountable sounders or horns. They can also be speaker strobes which sound an alarm, followed by a voice evacuation message to alert nearby personnel. Suppression systems can be linked to any alarm system to extinguish the fire.
Intruder alarms using door activation monitors can be installed in most prefabricated modules. PIR motion protection can be linked to this alarm to give a fully guarded environment. Volt-free sensors will raise an audible alarm and/or contact site control alarm systems or emergency services.
Substructures can protect housings built in areas prone or susceptible to flooding by raising the floor of the housing anywhere from a few hundred millimetres to several meters depending on the client's needs. Raised substructures can also be utilised to create a cable basement without the need to dig into the ground and create an expensive cable trench.
With land being expensive, double or triple-stacked housings or containers are an ideal solution to minimise the amount of space required on site. We manufacture ISO and bespoke enclosures which can utilise corner castings to stack housings simply and safely.
