2 Acoustic Enclosures for Dutch Data Centre Standby Generators

AVK, one of the largest providers of innovative power solutions for data centres across the UK and Europe, won the contract to provide an additional 8 MVA of emergency standby generator systems to a key data centre in the Netherlands.

As a trusted, long-standing manufacturer of robust and reliable acoustic enclosures for AVK’s standby generator systems, ADE were awarded the contract to:

Design and manufacture 2 bespoke acoustic enclosures, attenuated to 85 dB(A) at 1m, for the MTU DS4000 4000 kVA generators, including full mechanical and electrical fit-out of the generator sets and other equipment such as:

Internally-mounted inlet attenuators.

Motorised fire dampers.

Bird mesh.

Water mist fire suppression.

High performance weather louvres.

Small light and power.

Other auxiliary equipment.

Design and manufacture a 15m high shared common exhaust stack.

Fully test assemble the completed enclosures on top of the belly tanks with all pipework, valves, and SCR systems.

Facilitate AVK to carry out a full factory acceptance test (FAT) in our yard using load bank equipment, prior to dispatching the units to the Netherlands where AVK installed the units on site at the data centre.
