ADE Power Ltd is a leading provider of high-quality power solutions, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke steel enclosures and associated systems. We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of purchasing and supply chain activities within the engineering business. This includes sourcing raw materials (e.g. steel plate, beams, fabrication components, Electrical knowledge would be advantageous), managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet production and project demands. The role requires strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of steel and engineering products, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Responsibilities
Place and manage purchase orders with suppliers.
Evaluate quotes, negotiate terms, and track deliveries to ensure supply continuity.
Monitor lead times, stock levels, and forecasts to prevent delays and overstocking
Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels.
Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts and purchase agreements.
Monitor market trends and fluctuations in steel pricing to inform procurement decisions.
Improvement and automation of sourcing processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality, and pricing KPIs.
Conduct regular reviews and escalate issues as needed.
Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing or bulk ordering.
Support budgeting by tracking material costs and supplier price changes.
Work closely with sales, projects, and stores teams to align procurement with project timelines.
Overseeing day to day operations of the procurement and stores teams, driving ream performance and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Maintain accurate procurement records in line with company policies.
Ensure adherence to company terms, supplier agreements, and import/export rules.
Requirements
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Experience with purchase order systems and basic inventory planning.
Solid Excel skills for tracking orders and analysing spend.
Good understanding of logistics (lead times, deliveries, back-orders).
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
CIPS procurement qualification or working towards (desirable).
Working Hours
The working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week, from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday and from 8am to 1:30pm on Friday. The business is closed for Bank Holidays, we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.
